Student Faculty Senate
Why I Joined My School Senate
I became part of my school senate last year. I had recently done a final project for my abnormal psychology class on teen anxiety and depression. I surveyed the school and realized what a huge issue this was at our school. I decided to schedule a meeting with some school administrators to discuss how the school could better support student mental health. They took my advice into consideration and implemented many of my suggestions. That meeting helped me realize the change I could make in my school community, so I decided to run for the school senate.
About the School Senate
After I was elected to the school senate, I immediately started attending meetings. We began to discuss the issues of privilege within our community. Right now, we are discussing diversity, sustainability, and mental health. I cannot wait to see where our discussions go.
